Wow. I did not know until doing a bit of poking around today that gypsy punk-rocker Eugene Hutz immigrated to Burlington, Vermont from Ukraine post Chernobyl. In any event, he makes good music and probably likes Cabot sour cream. Check out this link.
Hat tip to pawlina for getting me thinking...

Mmmm can you imagine sour cream on that fine moustache? : )
Dear pumpernickel. Wow you and olechko posted about him on the same day. I think post Chornobyl, he first went to the Carpathians? Apparently he tours to Ukraine every year... I thought he was great in Everything is Illuminated, that's the first (and last) time i heard Gogol Bordello music.
Apparently diary products in Ukraine are to die for. I've never seen the Cabot brand out here in Lotusland, but was told by the BC Obolon beer reps that SuperStore's house brand tastes the most like sour cream from "back home" in Ukraine...
If Hutz ever makes it out here, maybe we can get him to compare all three brands. Maybe you can come out too ... bring some Cabot with you? It would be nice to meet in person and conduct our own taste test. I'm always up for a nice plate of pyrohy-aka-varenyky. Washed down with a bottle of Obolon ... well, that pretty much describes my idea of heaven. ;-)
I cried my eyes out when I saw Everything is Illuminated. I had just come back from my baba's 80th birthday celebration and saw some family documents I had never known about before. Was pretty trippy.
You know Gogol Bordello is at Ottawa Bluesfest this year, eh?
Saw them in Austin couple of years ago. Will try to make the trek to the Fest this summer.
On Friday July 13 according to their tour site.

Sheena,
Will definitely be checking out Gogol Bordello at the Ottawa Bluesfest.
Sheena,
Great minds...http://pumpernickie.blogspot.com/2007/03/ukrainian-drag-queen-in-eurovision-2007.html
there was controversy about whether it was a shot at the Russians...
Ah! my apologies for not reading back further...
Hey Pawlina. Interesting re your comment on diary products. The smetana and mayonnaise here are OK. Haven't tried the Kefir (not willing yet although have had enough hangovers to require a 'cure'). But cheese and moloko leave a lot to be desired... Especially the moloko, which is all non fresh, very pasteurised stuff.
