Chili Peppers Contest to close on Sunday
So far the best (only) entries have come from Willard. On Sunday, I will be publishing a top 11 countdown and awarding a prize to the winner.
Just a reminder, the contest is to match Chili Peppers songs to Liberal leadership contestants. The person who has the most matches as selected by me will win.

Here is my crack at it:
Joe Volpe: Why Don't you Love Me?
"Why don't you love me like you used to do?
How come you treat me like a worn out shoe?
My hair's still curly and my eyes are still blue.
So why don't you love me like you used to do?"
Michael Ignatieff: If You Want Me To Stay
" If you want me to stay
I'll be around today
To be available for you to see
I'm about to go there
Then you'll know
For me to stay here
I've got to be me"
Maurizio Bevilacqua, Caroline Bennett, Heady Fry and Bob Rae: Me and My Friends
"Like two sweet peas
in an even sweeter pod
that's my friend
and my friends's named Bob
like the devil knows hell
I know Bob well"
Scott Brison: Crosstown Traffic
"But darlin' can't you see my signals turn from green to red?
All you do is slow me down.
And I got better things on the other side of town"
Martha Hall-Findley: Subway to Venus
"You've got to get in before you get out
And gettin' out is what it's gonna be about"
Ken Dryden: Fortune Faded
"So divine, hell of an elevator,
All the while, my fortune faded,
Never mind the consequences of my
Wildest time, my fortune faded..."
Alright, figured I should round out my entry and do Dion and Kennedy. Couldn't find any songs where the lyrics really fit, but these two titles - at least emotionally -linked for me:
Dion: Yertle The Turtle
(because you gotta admit, If one imagines what Yertle looks like, it is hard not to think of Stephan)
Kennedy: True Men Don't Kill Coyotes
(this probably stirs up images of Kennedy in remarkably good cowboy gear at Stampede)
BTW - given the results to date of Super Weekend, you gotta give it to me that my MHF and Dryden suggestions have born fruit!
